Volkswagen has unveiled the India-specific VW Tiguan 2016 and the concept of VW Tiguan GTE at the 2015 Tokyo Show. The red coloured prototype model of 2016 Tiguan and the similar GTE Concept have disclosed by the company at the Frankfort Show, held in September, 2015. The second generation Tiguan SUV is expected to be introduced in the country by the month April, 2016 while the Tiguan GTE concept is to be in processing.
2016 Volkswagen Tiguan:
The 2016 Tiguan is the second-generation SUV based on the platform of the Volkswagen’s MQB and the sport utility concept. The earlier model was introduced in 2007 in the global market and obtained 2.6million units of sale. Now it is to be renovated in the necessary areas like design, efficiency and the offering features. Newly designed Tiguan is 50kgs lighter than the first-generation Tiguan and measuring 4,485mm length, 1839mm width, 1633mm height and 2682mm wheelbase. When compare the dimensions of two generation Tiguan, the new one has to get the longer body and strong wheelbase.
It is likely to get 8 different kind of motors in which four are TDI diesel and the remaining four are TSI petrol motors. Volkswagen Tiguan GTE Concept:
The Tiguan GTE is to be become as a hybrid SUV and it will be the Volkswagen’s first SUV integrated with the hybrid technology. At IAA 2015, the concept of Tiguan GTE was first time introduced and the production of the models not yet started. The turbocharged, 1.4-litre TSI petrol motor generates 160kw/218PS of power and the same engine is working by company with the conjunction of electric motors for the Tiguan GTE to produce 215hp of power output.
