Volkswagen to launch the VW Polo GTI in the Indian market in March, 2016 and it will be the great news for those who are eagerly looking for the hottest hatchback. In fact, the Indian-specific Polo GTI has been made its premiere at the GIIAS 2015, held in August, 2015, with the pleasant looking chassis. The former reports indicated that the upcoming hatchback to be released by the end of this year. The production-ready model of Polo GTI has been spotted with the 1.8-litre petrol engine in India for testing the performance and mileage. The same model which has been showcased at the motor show is likely to come to the Indian market. The 1.8-litre TSI is the turbocharged petrol engine to be powered the Polo GTI hatchback and the engine has a capacity to returning the output of 177bhp and 250Nm. The brands of the Volkswagen Group introduced the Audi A3 and Skoda Octavia with the same engine. The GTI is to be touched the top speed at 146/mph or 236/kmph by accelerating its speed from 0 to 100/kmph in nearly 6.7 seconds.
For the Indian auto market, the Polo GTI is to be available with the 7-speed DGP automatic gearbox to power the front wheels whereas the global market will get both manual and automatic transmissions. Compared to the standard hatchback of Polo, the GTI comes with the lot of changes in terms the cosmetic components, interior and exterior features, etc.
The new Volkswagen car will get the new mesh grille, newly designed front and rear bumpers, LED headlights, sporty seats with red stitching, new steering wheel with a lot of functional buttons, 17-inch alloy wheels, as well.
The body frame work and the suspension features of the upcoming Polo GTI are to be imported from the global-specific model. The design and interior components of the hatchback will be manufactured by the domestic units of Volkswagen. Whatever the drive train system imported for the aforementioned Skoda and Audi models is to be equipped in the new Polo GTI and it might be forward wheel drive train.
