The German carmaker, Volkswagen to focus on the development of the entry level (economy) segment in the major markets like South America, India and Russia. The statement was directly indicated by the company in its future strategy. The VW carmaker specified that the economy segment is relevant for the multiple markets in Asia and consist of attractively priced entry-level vehicles.
The company has been working on the new models to increase its presence in the entry-level segment. The VW Ameo compact sedan has been released in the country and the model has specially made for the Indian market. Volkswagen sold around 4,014 units in the last month, an increment of 107 percent compared to 1942 units in November 2015.
In this year only, Volkswagen has launched the performance based variant Polo GTI in the Indian market. The Polo is the most important car so that Volkswagen India is working on the new generation model that will get a new platform, longer wheelbase and a big cabin room.
The line of Volkswagen products, including electric vehicles confirmed for the international market. With the introduction of new cars in the entry level segment, the company to improve itself in the major markets.
