Volkswagen Tiguan is the second generation product officially released at 2015 Frankfort Motor Show and the model will be introduced in early 2016 in Indian auto market. Tiguan will be designed under the sport utility vehicle concept, which was already introduced at Detroit Motor Show, 2015 with the “Cross-Coupe GTE Concept Car”. The 2016 Tiguan model is the Volkswagen’s third popular brand after the Polo and Golf and it is underpinned by the company’s MQB platform. Volkswagen CEO, Herbert Diess said “the second-generation Tiguan is the proof of Volkswagen brand strength” at IAA 2015. The outgoing models of Tiguan will come up with longer body structure and wheelbase than earlier model.
At first, Volkswagen introduced first-model of Tiguan in 2007 over the market and the company has sold almost 2.6 million of units. Now the company has planned to introduce environment sustainable and affordable Tiguan across the auto market with light weight structure and hybrid option. This vehicle is being offered with latest petrol and diesel engine options, 4motion AWD system and high-speed manual or automatic transmission. The earlier model was produced maximum power in the range of 123bhp to 234bhp whereas latest model will produce power between 118bhp to 240bhp based on fuel-variant and transmitted gear-box.
The upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan will be released in three trim levels such as Trendline, Comfortline and Highline with sporty touch features. By watching the spy shots, new model will comes with two-slat chrome grille, bumper with sporty curve and double barrel headlamps. At the side profile, it will looks like Mk7 Golf family models with rear slopping roofline, strong shoulder line and flared wheel arches. The back profile of the Tiguan has attracted rear glass and contrast coloured bumper that easily manages the car for sporty and pleased feel.
The new Tiguan cabin is similar to the Glof hatchback and it is pretty with layout of multiple elements. To obtain a sporty look, the vehicle incorporated with contrast coloured door panels and seats, 615litres boot space, which would be increased to 1665litres when the rear seats folded.
The company has just unveiled the model at IAA 2015 but there no information of the production the car like where it will be manufactured. However, Volkswagen has planned to launch it in early 2016.
