Top-end variant of Maruti Ignis spied for test

The latest news from GaadiWaadi is the high-end variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis has spied with the totally covered body for the test. There are around three to four images of the test model acquired by one of the automotive sources. A few days back, the sources confirmed that the Ignis is expected to be launched by the end of this year. Some of the reports indicated that the Ignis crossover is confirmed to go on sales in the coming festival season.

The Indian-specific Maruti Suzuki Ignis will similar to the Japan-spec Ignis, which is already available in the Japanese market. The small crossover measures the length of 370mm, 1660mm of width, 1595mm of height, 2435mm of wheelbase and the ground clearance of 180mm. The high-end variants will be featured the black colored 15-inch alloy wheels like in the spy shots of the test model.

The inside of the car featured the distinctive styling compared to the other Maruti products available in the market. The Ignis small car features the dual tone dashboard, new steering wheel design, SmartPlay display and HVAC controls.

The Ignis will be offered in both diesel and petrol variants to target the segment models. The diesel versions powered by the 1.3-litre DDiS engine and the petrol versions offered with the 1.2-litre K12B engine. The AMT gearbox will be exclusively offered on the petrol variants. As per the reports, the diesel versions to be received the Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid system.

The price of the Ignis will be affordable and restricted nearly the starting price tag of Rs. 4 to 5 lakhs in the Indian market.
