The Indian-made Maruti Baleno hatchback has been reached the Japanese market and it is the first car from Maruti Suzuki imported by the parent company, Suzuki. The company has been dispatched the first batch of Baleno models, which were shipped in January, to the Japanese market from India. In the history of Maruti Suzuki, it is the milestone achieved with the Maruti Baleno that has to get the best recognition in that market with its attractive design and high performance. In India, the Baleno will be offered with the petrol and diesel engines but, Suzuki is likely to introduce petrol versions in Japan.
Maruti Suzuki offered the 1.2-litre K-series engine on the petrol versions of Baleno and the 1.3-litre DDiS motor on the diesel models. In Japan, the Baleno petrol will be offered with the new 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine, which is turbocharged one developing 112bhp power and 175Nm torque. With the same high efficient engine, the Baleno has been showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo as the Baleno RS Concept. As of now, the Baleno RS confirmed for the global market but, it is likely to enter the Indian market ahead of the festival season.
The officials at the company have been recommended that the Baleno will be exported to around 100 global markets including Japan. Later, the premium hatchback will be imported by the European markets like Germany, Italy, Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium and Denmark.
It is the second premium model from the company and all versions of Baleno have manufactured at the Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar Plant in India. Launched in the last week of October 2016 in India, the model became as a successful model in the shorter period and crossed the Hyundai Elite i20 in terms of sales. With the increasing demand, the model was under waiting period for few months in the last year.
The automatic version of the Baleno, equipped with the 6-speed automatic gearbox, is available in the domestic market. Baleno is offered at the price range of Rs. 5.11lakh to Rs. 8.16lakh (Ex-showroom).
The next coming models from Maruti Suzuki are the Vitara Brezza and Maruti Ignis, which have been already unveiled in the first week of this month at the Delhi Auto Expo.
