Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming crossover model, iM-4 has been spotted testing to hit the road and the concept was first released by Suzuki at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. According to the spy images, the prototype model of the upcoming Suzuki iM-4 will totally identical to the iM-4 concept. But, the outgoing model may be come up with new bumpers, strong alloy wheels, inspiring taillights and headlights and the model takes years of time to launch in India.
The theme of the iM-4 model is “Shape the Inspiration” and the car will be packed with a simple and iconic design, reliable performance and the new fuel-saving technology. The model is likely to be the real inspiration for the perfect driving with comfortable and reliable features. As previously reported that the production version of Suzuki iM-4 could be known as the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the model will be positioned below the Suzuki Vitara and S-Cross models in European market.
The Suzuki iM-4 would be integrated with the Boosterjet, turbocharged, three-cylinder, 1.0-litre diesel engine and a DualJet, 1.2-litre petrol engine. The report is it will be integrated with a Suzuki’s mild hybrid system (SHVS) that helps Boosterjet engine to produce high fuel-economy. The K10C engine, also called as BoosterJet Engine produces 110hp@5,500rpm power and 170Nm torque in the range of 2000 to 3500rpm on the Suzuki Baleno, which will be launched in early 2016 in European market. The petrol engine will delivers 88hp of power and 120Nm of torque on the Smallest SUV (3,693mm length), Suzuki iM-4.
As per the auto industry report, the iM-4 concept represented model would be released with the name plate of the Suzuki Ignis, which was terminated from the auto market in India. There is no information for the Indian market like when it will launch, which changes will be made and whether the model will be released as either Indian-specific model or Asia-specific model. Along with the iM-4, the company has working on the other sub-4m SUV, codenamed as Maruti YBA which would be influenced by the XA Alpha Concept of Suzuki. The Maruti YBA will be the best rival for the Ford EcoSport in sub-4m SUV segment and incorporated with 1.3-litre DDiS and 1.2-litre K-series engines.

With the complete design, the Suzuki iM-4 model would be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2016 before its launch in Europe. Moreover, the Australian market has interested in introducing of production versions of Suzuki iM-4 at Geneva show as the prototype model of concept was so impressive in spy images. The demand of Suzuki’s family products, Swift and Jimmy was so high in the Australian market and the Suzuki iM-4 model will reach the top mark sales with the same credit if it will be introduced in Australia, said Suzuki Australia.
