New performance-based hatchbacks coming to India soon

Three hatchbacks VW Polo GTI, Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS and Hyundai i20 N models coming to India during the festival period. These three are the performance based versions offered for the prospective buyers at the reasonable prices. The new model’s launch will happen in the next two to three months of this year and target the existed hatchbacks.

Volkswagen Polo GTI:

The VW Polo GTi is the performance based version of the current selling new Polo hatchback and expected to launch in August 2016. The 1.8-litre petrol engine will power the Polo GTI and come mated to the 7-speed DSG gearbox, dual-clutch automatic transmission. The turbocharged petrol engine will generate the power output of 192bhp and the torque of 320Nm. Being the highest selling hatchback, the Polo is introduced with the new version that will come to India using the CBU route.  

The Polo hatchback will be priced around Rs. 20 to 22lakhs in the Indian market. The hottest hatchback is likely to be offered in 2-door and 4-door options along with the high range interior and exterior features.

Baleno RS:

The Baleno RS is the hottest hatchback from Maruti Suzuki offered with the 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine, which is rated at the maximum outputs of 110bhp and 170Nm torque. Already, this model exported to the multiple countries as a Baleno car and will be available with the 6-speed manual gearbox in the Indian market. To differentiate from the current selling hatchback, the Baleno RS model will get the sporty body kit, sporty interiors, different kinds of bumpers and sporty colors. The upcoming hatchback will cost around Rs. 11lakhs at the Maruti Suzuki dealerships in India.

Hyundai i20 N:

Hyundai has launched the i20 N model in other markets and the model is exported from India only. Now, the same model will be sold in the India market with the 1.4-litre petrol engine, which is likely to return maximum outputs of 114bhp power and 160Nm torque. In India, the car will be offered with the 6-speed manual gearbox. The Hyundai i20 N will get the additional features like redesigned bumpers, new side skirts, rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels. The expected price of the performance based hatchback, i20 N is around Rs. 12lakhs.
