New-generation Maruti Alto launches in 2017

The next-generation Maruti Alto is likely to be launched in the country in 2017 and the starting price of the 2017 Alto model will be existed at Rs. 4lakhs (on-road), based on the report from MotorOctane. The Maruti Alto 2017 is now under testing with the new 600cc engine, which will be the small and all new one for the domestic market. But, the same engine used by Suzuki from more than 10 years back on its Alto Kei model. The domestic carmaker has already started the working of Alto 2017 with this engine.

In the range of Maruti Suzuki models, the Alto is the smallest car and the company introduced two best models like Alto 800 and Alto K10 for the domestic market. Both models have been specially designed for the Indian buyers and featured almost similar specifications. A few of new things in terms of design, safety and performance will be confirmed by the company for its upcoming Alto 2017 model. The new reports recommended that the next-generation Alto will be received the same platform of the Alto Kei.

When comes to the design part, the existing Alto model will be redesigned according to the prerequisites of the future-generation customers. At the front, it will get a revised grille with the simple bumper and headlamp layout. The model will receive chrome treatment based on the version and a heavy design modification to look more stylish and attractive. Some of the sources indicated that the new generation Alto will get a few design layouts from the production version of the Ignis. The higher variants will get the more features than the base variants of the Alto 2017.

The interior of the Alto 2017 is mostly identical to the Japanese version so its interior design is more premium for the Indian buyers. The small car will enter the market with the basic and forward-thinking features including dual airbags, ABS, touchscreen system with the support of the navigation system and Bluetooth, etc. Maruti Suzuki is planning to increase the seating capacity of new-generation Alto 2017. With the lightweight construction and a small new engine, the new Alto 2017 will be reduced its weight by more than 10 percent than the current-gen Alto.

The company will be dedicated to introducing the Alto 2017 as a most fuel-efficient car than the outgoing Indian-specific Alto models. With the small engine, it will return around 28kmpl of mileage thereby the performance of the model will be increased. The India carmaker working on the best models by considering the characteristics safety, comfort, convenience, feature-rich, high-performance, fuel-efficient, as well. The length of the car will be same at 3395mm but, the height and width will be altered with the new design.

Alto 2017 Engine Performance:

The 658cc engine will be available in two states and developed 62bhp on the turbo version and 53bhp on the standard version. The small engine will be developed with the high emission standards and rated at better fuel-efficiency. The current Alto K10 powered by the 796cc engine but, the model will get the new 658cc turbo engine.

Alto 2017 Price:

The base variant of next-gen Alto 2017 will be available at starting price tag of Rs. 4 lakhs (on-road). But, the top-end variants will be available at around Rs. 5 lakhs price tag with the extra specifications and features. Till now there is no clarity about when it will receive production and where it will be manufactured.

With the entry of the Alto 2017, the company’s strength will be enlarged in the small car segment, which is now ruled by the Alto is the best-selling car in India. At final, the Alto 2017 will be more fuel-efficient, lighter and faster than the outgoing Maruti Alto 800 and Alto K10 models.
