The Maruti YBA, could premiere at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016, has been spotted for testing in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The exterior partially covered with camouflage but, the interiors of the sub-4 metre SUV are fully revealed. The model would be the top-end variant of YBA as it is featured with the advanced SmartPlay system with the option of touch screen, a black colored dash board with centre console, and fabric seats. The front of interior design is simple, stylish and different from the Maruti Suzuki models, representing a lot of switches and multi-functional steering wheel. As per the spy images, a cruise control system offered in the Maruti S-Cross crossover is to be featured by the YBA.
Almost the production model of Vitara Brezza is in final testing as the model is continuously tested by Maruti Suzuki before its first debut at Delhi Auto Expo 2016. The Maruti YBA will get the new platform to take on the current popular sub-4metre SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Ford Ecosport and Mahindra TUV 300. Some of the components, features and characteristics are to be derived from the Maruti Suzuki‘s best selling hatchback is Swift.
The top-end variants of Vitara Brezza are to feature the reverse camera, Bluetooth streaming, navigation, Apple CarPlay and navigation system. The design of the compact SUV is equivalent to the existing Suzuki Vitara in the worldwide market and features the chrome finished grille, the floating C-pillar design, angular taillamps, horizontal headlamps and the new wheel arches on the exterior.
The entry level versions of the YBA to get the standard features of the best Maruti models, such as airbags, infotainment system, anti-lock braking system, either manual or automatic climate control, Aux compatibility, as well.
The Maruti YBA is likely to get the 1.3L diesel engine received from the Maruti Ciaz, which is generating the maximum output of 90PS and 200Nm. Along with the diesel engine, the Maruti YBA is to get the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine shared in the Maruti Swift is returning 85bhp and 114Nm of power and torque. The two engines are complemented by the standard 5-speed manual transmission. Following the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the optional CVT gearbox is to be equipped with the petrol engine.
Instead of the NEXA outlets, the Vitara Brezza is to be sold under the Maruti Suzuki showrooms to target the sub compact SUVs. The Baleno and S-Cross are currently retailed under this network across the Indian market.
