Maruti Suzuki Reported Sales of 30Lakh Alto Cars in India

Maruti Suzuki achieved a new breakthrough with the cumulative sales of more than 30 lakh Alto cars in the domestic market. Launched in September 2000, the Maruti Alto has been becoming as a first best-selling car in India with the maximum sales. Alto is the first auto brand satisfied the above 30 lakh Indian families in the span of about 15 years and 6 months. In the portfolio of Maruti Suzuki, it is one of the small cars and recognised as a country’s best-selling small car.

Maruti Suzuki Alto is the first Indian-made car moving as a top-selling car in the domestic market for long 10 years with an average monthly sale of 22,000 models. In 2014, the Alto hatchback beats Toyota Aqua, Volkswagen Golf, Daihatsu Tanto and Honda Fit and ruled the global market as a largest-selling small car.

More than 70 markets have been importing the Indian-made Alto models since the launch. Till now, the leading carmaker exported a total of 3.8lakh Altos to the global countries with a variety of variants.

At present, two models available in the home market under the Alto brand. Namely, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Alto K10, which are offered with the two fuel options of Petrol and CNG. A total of 19 versions of Alto models in the country while the Alto K10 introduced with the automatic transmissions.

According to earlier reports, Maruti Suzuki is working on the next-generation 2017 Alto model based on the platform of the Alto Kei. Moreover, the Alto car will feature the additional design layouts and specifications include revised grille, bumper layouts and headlamps to reach the next-generation buyers. Compare to the existed Alto models, the upcoming 2017 Alto is to be downsized its engine as well as reduced its weight by 10 percent. In the further years, the Alto brand models as well as existed Maruti models will be featured the auto gear shift, different kind of engines, as well.

Maruti Suzuki Alto Models Performance:

The Alto 800 powered by the 796cc petrol engine with the maximum outputs of 47bhp and 69Nm to return the fuel economy of 22.74kmpl. While the Alto K10 returns 24.07kmpl with a combination of front wheel drivetrain, 5-speed manual gearbox and the 998cc engine that holds the maximum outputs of 67bhp and 90Nm.

Alto Models Price Structure (Ex-showroom Delhi):

Alto 800: Rs 2.57lakh to Rs. 3.78lakh

Alto K10: Rs. 3.26lakh to Rs. 4.12lakh

Alto K10 AMT: Rs. 4.05lakh
