Suzuki New Zealand and CG MotoCorp, Suzuki’s authorised distributor (four-wheelers) for Nepal have been confirmed that the made in India Baleno will be introduced in the corresponding markets. The Maruti Baleno is likely to enter the Nepal and New Zealand countries as Suzuki Baleno, which will be manufactured at the company’s Manesar plant in India. With the high production capacity, all variants of the Baleno will be exported from India.
The information from the Suzuki’s authorised dealer in Nepal is the Baleno market launch will be commenced at the end of April 2016. While the New Zealand market will get the India-specific Baleno premium hatchback later in this year only.
Previously, the company announced that around 100 markets are to be imported the all-local made Baleno, which is offered with two fuel-kinds of engines. Some of the markets including Suzuki’s home market (Japan) and the European markets started the importing of the models of the hatchback. The European markets like Belgium, Italy, France, Denmark, Spain and Netherlands will be commenced the sales of Baleno, which is offered in multiple colors.
In Japan, the starting price of Suzuki Baleno is 1.414 million Yen while the Italian market has received the limited edition, Suzuki Baleno Web S with a price ranging from 15,900 Euros (Rs.11.55 lakhs in India currency). With the same diesel engine of DDiS 200, the Baleno is to enter the global markets to return the mileage of 27.39kmpl. But, the petrol variants will get the 1.0litre Boosterjet engine instead of VVT engine that develops 83bhp and 115Nm.
For the New Zealand market, there is no confirmation at all regarding mechanical specifications. Another side, there are many chances to receive the same engines in the outgoing model. The Nepal market may offer the petrol variants with the combination of the 1.2-litre K-series engine and the 5-speed manual gearbox.
In Japan, the Baleno has been launched with the high efficient BoosterJet engine, which will be seen in the upcoming Baleno RS. Along with the new Maruti car Vitara Brezza, the Baleno RS has been debuted in India at the 2016 Auto Expo and it will arrive later in this year in the domestic market.
To report the double-digit growth in the coming financial year 2016-17, the Baleno will be contributed its share along with the new Brezza, according to the officials at Maruti Suzuki. At overall, the Baleno and Vitara Brezza have received more than 1,00,000 and 20,000 bookings corresponding since their launches in India.
