The automotive industry is usually increasing its technologies in introducing the new vehicles in the competitive market. Not only the new vehicle, the existing vehicles also modernised with the advanced interior and exterior equipment, refined engines, safety equipment, as well. As per the new information from automotive news, Mahindra & Mahindra is also in that way and renewed its passenger vehicles with the new automatic engines.
Coming to the subject, the existing vehicle, Mahindra Scorpio will get the more advanced 6-speed Aisin AT gearbox, which is currently used in the best-selling utility vehicle, Mahindra XUV 500. The existing Scorpio top-end grade S10 is available with the 6-speed DSI automatic, but the rumours in the industry are the existing Scorpio with the DSI engine is quietly discontinued to replace with the 6-speed Aisin AT. There is no guarantee at all as no official information from Mahindra and its spokespersons.
Still continued the rumours resembling the new Scorpio will get the more powerful mHawk 140 engine, which is similar to the 2.2-litre turbodiesel and generated 140hp power, an increment of 20bhp. The Scorpio manual version will get the 5-speed unit as standard and AWD as optional in top-end Scorpio S10.
The facelifted Scorpio will get the cosmetic changes including fog lamps, new headlamps, bumpers and grille. The upcoming one will continue the same dimensions, 4456mm length, 1820mm width, 1930mm or 1995mm height and 2680mm wheelbase.
The interior of the Scorpio will get the new upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system with the Android EcoSense, Auto and Connected Apps sourced from the Mahindra XUV 500. The Safety features like dual airbags and Anti-lock Braking System offered as standard in the higher variants.
