Mahindra NuvoSport- Upcoming SUV Engines and Variants Leaked

Ahead of the official launch, the Mahindra NuvoSport’s variants and engine details leaked officially in the domestic market. The leaked brochure revealed that the SUV will be offered in four variants such as N4, N4+, N6 and N8. The passenger car is to be powered by the 1493cc mHawk engine, which will be developed 74.6kW power at 3750 rpm and 240Nm at 1600 to 2800 rpm in the power mode. The same engine will return the power of 53.4kW power @ 3250 rpm and 180Nm torque at 1600 to 2100 rpm in economy mode, according to the leaked brochure.

The car is developed with the BS-IV emission standards and expected to be feature the drive layout of 2WD (Two-Wheel Drive). The autoSHIFT (automatic transmission) will come as an optional feature on the higher variant. The compression ratio of the Vehicle is 16.5:1.

About Mahindra NuvoSport:  

Mahindra has officially announced that the NuvoSport is to be launched on April 4th, 2016 in the home market. The upcoming sub-4metre SUV is expected to be the facelifted version of the existed Mahindra Quanto, according to the reports from the automotive related blogs. Earlier reports recommended that the Quanto facelift will enter the competitive UV market with the new name of either Mahindra Canto or Cresto. But, it now comes with the different name of NuvoSport, where Nuvo is expected to indicate New Utility Vehicle. From Mahindra, there is no confirmation at all above the news but, it will be the different model from the range of company’s sport utility vehicles.

The aggressive styling and sportiness are the major key attributes for the Mahinda NuvoSport, which is likely to be positioned between the Mahindra’s new cars, KUV 100 and TUV 300. The second-generation model will be designed and developed based on the platform of the new Scorpio in the Mahindra’s local house.

While launching the new product, the whole thing regards its design and performance as the domestic customers have very much curiosity about the new Mahindra SUV car. But, a small amount of information regarding the sub-4metre SUV is available at this moment. With the same TUV 300-based ladder-frame chassis, the upcoming SUV has been designed so that both models share the features, specifications, as well.  A big question is what is the difference between the TUV 300 and NuvoSport? The exact solution for this will be available in exactly five more days.

When seeing the first images, one thing is to be cleared that the SUV comes with the sporty appeal, stylish body design and performance-based engines. At the front, the car comes with two different shaped and black-colored grilles, the up grille is wider and attached with the Mahindra logo while the lower grille comes with the nameplate of NuvoSport. The exterior is finished with the dual-tones, bigger headlamps and tail lamps. The dimensions of the new SUV are to be received from the Quanto, which measures 3998mm length, 1850mm width and 1895mm height. Similarly, the new Mahindra car features the strong wheelbase of 2760mm with 180mm ground clearance.

Inside, it will be featured the seven-seater layout with the excellent centre console system, comfortable seating arrangement and touch-screen infotainment system. The NuvoSport will be available with the ABS as well as dual airbags as standard features across all the variants.
