The utility vehicle leader Mahindra & Mahindra has announced the name of its upcoming compact SUV is NuvoSport, which will be reportedly launched on April 4, 2016. Moreover, the company unveiled the new NuvoSport images before its launch in the country for spreading the brand name and appearance across the country. Based on the reports, the upcoming compact SUV will be positioned between the Mahindra KUV 100 and TUV 300, which are the two different SUVs from the company. The NuvoSport will be the Mahindra’s third sub-4metre SUV designed and developed by the design team of Mahindra.
A few reports indicated that the new compact SUV will replace the existed Quanto with the sporty styling. Previously, Mahindra has decided to launch the Quanto facelift in the country with the cosmetic updates, exterior and interior changes and different mechanical and powertrain options. The Quanto facelift has been spotted in the various places for few times with the covered body and now the company officially introduced it with the new name of NuvoSport.
The new SUV gets the Scorpio-based new generation platform to lead the SUV market and target the segment models. The name itself, the sporty design received by the next-coming Mahindra car, which introduces the active lifestyle and the bucket list of riding experiences to the customers. The contribution and popularity of Mahindra will be definitely increased in the SUV market with the introduction of the Quanto facelift or NuvoSport.
Mahindra’s (Automotive) president & chief executive, Pravin Shah, said that Mahindra introduces the strongest equity in the sport utility vehicles segment in the country. The company takes the time to design the NuvoSport, which will meet the requirements of customers, who are looking for the sporty SUV to feel the active lifestyle. Being an Indian leader in the SUV segment, Mahindra offers its vehicles with the new technologies and a variety of tools. All you know that the Mahindra KUV 100 introduced with the new mFalcon family engines while the TUV 300 offered with the automatic variants. Similarly, the upcoming Mahindra car will address the special design on the exterior and features. The list of features, dual airbags, alloy wheel and multiple interior facilities will be varied from the base variant to top-end variant.
The double-shaded exterior will be received by the NuvoSport with the black colored faux skid plate, faux hood scoop, bumper and LED DRLs. With the consideration of several rules implemented by the country, especially the Delhi government to control the heavy pollution, the sub-4metre SUV will be addressed the eco-friendly small engines with the BNVSAP safety norms.
About the engine options, there is no official information, but the car will be powered by the 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol engines. The petrol variants have many chances to get the KUV 100’s petrol engine and the diesel versions will be received the AMT transmission like the TUV 300. The exact powertrain options and new information including features and specifications of the new car will be opened by Mahindra at the time of market launch.
At this point, the pricing structure of the new SUV/Quanto facelift is not available, but the existed Quanto offered at the ex-showroom price between Rs. 6.92lakh to Rs. 8.48lakh.
