The premium hatchback, Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been launched in the Indian market in the festival period (October) of the last year with all localisation. With its impressive design, advanced specifications and fuel-efficient technology, the Baleno has been impressed by the global customers and markets. Therefore, the world countries have interested in importing the Baleno hatchback to their markets. Even, the Suzuki’s home market, Japan imported the petrol versions of Baleno with the turbocharged petrol engine.
Domestic sales of the Indian-made hatchback are rising while the exports are expected to be increased with well-acceptance structure. According to the report, Maruti Suzuki reported around 3,400 units of exports in the last month. In January, the company has shipped around 1760 Baleno models with right-hand drive structure and 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine to the Japanese market. After, the European countries including Poland, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Slovenia and Italy have started the exporting in the last month.
In the initial stages, the company’s export target is committed to around 5,000 to 6,000 units per month but, the coming months will see the doubled exports, based on the reports from Maruti Suzuki. From the last month only, the company’s exports are rising continuously and the same acceptance will be continued in the further months also. Because New Zealand and Nepal markets have already decided to introduce the premium models in their markets and some more markets have about to introduce the locally made hatchback in this year only. The exporting of the new Maruti car to Nepal will be commenced in the next month and the models will be sold in that market via the Maruti Suzuki’s authorised dealer.
Engines and Performance of Export-specific Baleno:
The UK market will introduce the India-specific Baleno in June with the high-capacity engines and noteworthy specifications. For the exports, the model is offered with the two kinds of petrol engines instead of diesel units. The first one is three-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine, which develops 82kW/110hp and 170Nm with the manual transmission. While the same engine returns the torque of 160Nm with 6-speed automatic transmission. The second one is the four-cylinder 1.2-litre Dualjet engine, which comes with or without the Suzuki’s SHVS hybrid technology. The natural-aspirated Dualjet motor, assisted by integrated starter generator, returns 89hp/66kW of power and 120Nm torque.
To meet the standards of the global customers, the Baleno features the LED taillights, LED daytime running lights, LED headlamps, reverse camera and the advanced infotainment system with Smartphone Linkage Audi Display and the 7-inch touchscreen display with MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay.
With the hatchback that receives more than 1lakh bookings since the launch in the country, Maruti Suzuki creates a special mark in all perspectives in the world.
