Automatic Variants of Mahindra XUV 500 Launched at Rs.17.08 Lakhs

Mahindra launched the automatic versions of its most accepted SUV of XUV 500 and the entry level version of XUV 500 automatic priced at Rs. 15.53 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) or Rs. 15.36 lakhs (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai).  The on-road starting price of the XUV 500 automatic in Delhi is Rs. 17.08 lakhs. The XUV 500 automatic cars are newly benefited with an Aisin-made 6-speed automatic transmission but, the remaining features of manual versions to be continued. The XUV 500 automatic cars are to be available at across Mahindra dealers from the 5th December, 2015 in the domestic market.

The same transmission has already used in the Mahindra Korando diesel versions and the compact SUV of Mahindra Tivoli. The XUV 500 automatic is to be powered the 2.2-litre mHawk engine that returns the ARAI certified mileage is 13.85/kmpl by delivering the output of 140bhp (103kW) at 3750rpm and 330Nm at 1600 to 2800rpm. With the same diesel engine, the manual versions of XUV 500 are giving the mileage of 16/kmpl on both front-wheel and all-wheel drive train models. 

Whatever the features including safety, comfort and convenience offered in the Mahindra XUV 500 manual version are available in the equivalent automatic versions. But, the car gets the automatic badge at the rear for differentiating the type of variant. The new versions of XUV 500 have priced around Rs. 1 lakh higher than their corresponding manual versions. The 6-speed automatic gearbox offered on the three versions such as W8 FWD, W10 FWD and W10 AWD.

The automatic variants of Mahindra Scorpio used the 6-speed automatic gearbox derived from the DSI (Drivetrain Systems International) of Australia. Now, the company plans to offer the same Aisin automatic gearbox in the Scorpio automatic in the next year and other upcoming products.
