Ashok Leyland Sales Increased 31% in March 2016

The biggest commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturer in India, Ashok Leyland, has reported the sales growth of 31% in the last month (March 2016). All segments, including light commercial vehicles and M&HCVs (trucks, buses, as well), have registered the highest sales in the previous month.

Ashok Leyland has a growth of 31 percent with the total sales of 16,702 units in the last month against the sales of the same month in the last year are 12,754 units. The company said that the M&HCV sales increased to 32 percent with the overall sales of 13,240 units in March 2016. The company sold 10,027 units in the same month last year.

Light commercial vehicles, including mini vans, small trucks, as well, reported the double-digit growth of 27% in March with the sales of 3,462 units. In March 2015, the LCV sales of Ashok Leyland were 2,727 units.

Ashok Leyland Reports in 2015-16 Financial Year:

The company has registered the positive sales for the FY2015-16 ended March 31, 2016. The CV manufacturer has 34% increment with the 1,40,457 units against the 1,04,902 units during the earlier FY 2014-15. Moreover, M&HCV segment has 41 percent growth for the 2015-16 financial year.

In the NCR region, the registration of heavy vehicles like trucks, tippers, and busses is temporarily banned by the Government according to the SC’s verdict. Even though, the company has a remarkable growth in all kinds of segments during the last quarter (January 2016 to March 2016).
